      Description

      Provide a mechanism to allow topology overlays to display custom information about links.

      Implementation notes:
      Note that this is a temporary solution that provides for the client-side overlay to manipulate the link details data. In a future release (Hummingbird?) this will be properly supported by allowing server-side overlay code to modify the data.
